The UK Department for International Development (DFID) Frontier Technologies Hub, in collaboration with the Royal Academy of Engineering, has launched a Local Production and Local Solutions technology and innovation programme to respond to the socio-economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic in Sierra Leone and other lower and middle income countries.
The programme encourages sharing of best practice and novel approaches to boost supply chains and support domestic manufacturing of essential goods during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Innovative approaches to local production and innovative solutions for addressing COVID-19 challenges will be crowdsourced. Successful contributions will be mapped as a global good and made available to private sector buyers, DFID country offices and the development sector through the Innovation Action website: https://www.innovationaction.org/
